Facility: Beds 341 Trauma: II
Unit Beds: 28
2 yrs of RN experience required, 2 yrs in specialty required. Need a strong cardiac background
Previous travel required. No first time travelers. 3+ previous assignments preferred
AK State License in hand
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required (AHA only)
CCRN preferred
Ratio: 1:1-2**1:1 very sick
Orientation: General Hospital Orientation: Must attend HR on 1st morning to complete paperwork, get ID badge etc. Will need to get Occupational Health Appt for Fit Testing . See information re: PALI (Providence Alaska Learning Institute). **May challenge EPIC class if HCP has EPIC experience. Clinical Orient. / time on assigned shift: 1 shift with the Educator and 1 shift with a preceptor
Dress Code: Any color / any pattern. No T- Shirts unless under scrub top. No hooded jackets. Shoes: Closed toe, cleanable shoes. Sneakers and clogs OK. No Artificial fingernails
EMR: EPIC Medication: Pyxis
Floating: Travelers will float. PCU 1:4, Post-Interventional Unit 1:3, CCU 1:2
Weekend: At minimum every other, but rarely might have 2 consecutive
Holidays: As needed. Will need to work either Christmas or New Year s (Day and Eve)
Call Requirement: None
Patient Pop: This is a VERY HIGH ACUITY/BUSY Unit. This unit will see everything except burns and transplants. Trauma, Neuro, Sepsis, Cardiac medical and surgical, DKA, Major postop, post arrests, some multi system failure, etc. This is a tertiary care provider for area hospitals.
Age Range: 17+
Special Equipment: Estimated % of patients with PA Catheters: 30%, Vents: 75%, Ventric/Bolts//ICP Monitoring: yes, IABP: yes, CRRT (Bedside dialysis) yes these patients are not normally assigned to travelers. Alaris Med System 3 Triple Channel Pump. PLUM pumps (same pump hospital wide). Draegar monitors. Puritan Bennett vents.
Unit Specific Procedures: Infusions: Everything Epi, Amiodarone, Vasopressin, Neo, DOP, DOB, Cardizem, Breviblock, norepi, etc.

NO LOCALS ACCEPTED: PROFESSIONALS MUST RESIDE OVER 50 MILES OF FACILITY TO QUALIFY

MUST NOT CURRENTLY BE WORKING IN ANY WAY FOR PROVIDENCE OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES. IF THE PROFESSIONAL IS A FORMER EMPLOYEE OF PROVIDENCE OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES (SWEDISH MEDICAL CENTER or PAC MED). MUST HAVE TERMINATED EMPLOYMENT AT LEAST 6 MONTHS PRIOR AND BE IN GOOD STANDING. DOCUMENTS MUST BE COMPLETE 1 WEEK PRIOR TO START, NO EXCEPTIONS.
