Job Description:
The University of Alaska Anchorage School of Social Work invites
applications for a Term Assistant Professor of Social Work, a
full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty position with
competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. We seek a
dedicated educator and licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with
significant post-MSW practice experience (preferably in Alaska and
with vulnerable communities) to teach across our BSW and MSW
programs. This role includes classroom and online instruction,
practicum seminar facilitation, academic advising, and student
mentoring. Ideal candidates will bring experience with behavioral
health or substance use treatment and a commitment to serving
diverse learners. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis
until the position is filled, and the selected candidate will be
expected to reside in Alaska. The position requires the candidate
to be a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Alaska (or
eligible to transfer clinical license from another state) with
experience in behavioral health and/or substance abuse treatment.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have substantial post-MSW
experience practicing with vulnerable communities in Alaska.
Candidates are expected to have teaching experience (or
teaching-related activities), including with distance-delivered
instructional technologies. The ideal candidate will be a licensed
clinical social worker (or eligible to transfer license from
another state) with strong post-MSW practice experience,
particularly with vulnerable communities and ideally in Alaska.
They should be an effective, student-centered educator comfortable
teaching both in person and online, and skilled with
distance-delivered technologies. Success in this role requires
cultural responsiveness, strong advising and mentoring abilities,
and the capacity to collaborate on curriculum and program
development. Minimum Qualifications: MSW from a CSWE-accredited
social work program. Two years’ post-MSW practice experience and
LCSW (or eligible to transfer license from another state).
Demonstrated background in working effectively with a wide range of
students/clients/constituents. Position Details: This is a
term-funded, union represented, 9 month per year faculty position
complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits
