Logistics Sales Specialist headquartered in Anchorage, AK. Bowhead

benefits.Job Summary:The Logistics Sales Specialist will work under
the direction of the General Manager. The primary responsibility of
the Logistics Sales Specialist is to help customers with their
project planning providing freight solutions and selling our
services. The role requires a high volume of customer interaction
utilizing phones, email, social media, and occasional meetings in
person. Prospecting new leads, developing deals, providing
exceptional customer service, closing business deals and account
management will all be responsibilities of the Sales
Specialist.This position will also work with the company's
administrative assistant to track cargo, and organize such items as
manifests, wharfage, moorage, and other port activity.In
conclusion, the position is a vital component of Bowhead Transport,
and key to its success. Personal attributes that highlight a
successful Logistics Sales Specialist are strong writing and
communication skills with an ability to sell services effectively
utilizing all forms of communication. A background in sales will be
helpful. Organizational skills, self-reliance, and professionalism
are all requirements.--- Responsible for initiating sales calls to
prospective or current clients--- Prospect for leads and perform
cold calls to build a pipeline of business--- Supervise accounts
and maintain regular communication to retain existing
relationships--- Responsible for price quotations and service
negotiation with customers and carriers--- Responsible for creating
sales goals to aid in achieving target goals--- Responsible for
supervising shipments until delivery completed to guarantee smooth
operations and customer satisfaction--- Build relationships with
occasional one-on-one in person meetings.--- Document and track all
significant customer interaction and quotes through the company---
Coordinate with other departments to integrate company logistics
with current business systems or processes.--- Identify optimal
shipment and transportation routes--- Communicate freight
transportation information to customers or suppliers--- Maintain a
motivated and productive team environment through performance and
leadership--- Monitor the competitive marketplace, rates, planning,
acquisitions, etc.Logistics Sales Specialist Requirements and/or
Beneficial Attributes--- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and commonly used marketing software.--- Demonstrate the
ability to work under pressure, identify and prioritize critical
issues and effectively identify solutions for mutual benefit of
company and client.--- Attendance, punctuality and reliability, are
essential traits required for this position.--- Knowledge of
business and management principles involved in strategic planning.
Resource allocation, leadership technique, and the coordination of
people, assets and resources.--- Communicating with people outside
the organization, representing the organization to customers, the
public, government, and other external sources. Information
exchanged in person, in writing, by telephone or e-mail.---
Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with
clients, and maintaining them over time.--- Encouraging and
building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among company team
members.--- Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the
strategies and actions to achieve them.--- A minimum of 2 years
experience working directly with customers including sales
experience.--- Experience with conventional and unconventional
commercial projects.--- Excellent verbal and written communication
skills. A good / complete grasp of the English language.--- Must
demonstrate the ability to determine cargo rates and estimate
associated expenses, (Working with Bowhead Transport sales and
management)--- Job requires being reliable, responsible,
dependable, and fulfilling / completing obligations.--- Strong
interpersonal skills; social personality with the ability to form
and maintain numerous professional relationships.--- Strong
multi-tasking and time management skills to balance and prioritize
work.--- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.---

Marketing, Logistics, Business, or equivalent with an additional 2
years sales experience and/or prior work experience in the marine
transportation industry or equivalent--- Possess a strong track
record of sales success including in person sales, telephone sales,
and general customer service.--- Understanding of Alaska's
logistical challenges, and the different Alaska regions.--- Possess
extensive knowledge of sales principles and in-depth knowledge of
marketing techniques.--- Must be a strong team player who is also
capable of working independently.--- Communication skills:
Applicants for a logistics / sales role must be analytical problem
solvers able to handle stressful situations while putting the needs
of the customer first.--- Time management and multitasking skills:
It is not uncommon to be on the phone while sending emails at the
same time.--- Must have good computer skills utilizing excel
spreadsheets, and word processing capability.--- Must possess a
valid Driver's License.Physical Demands--- While performing the
duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to read
text on computer screen and in hard copy, stand or sit, talk, and
hear.--- Exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit,
well-ventilated and moderately paced office Environment.---
Occasionally required to carry/lift up to 50 lbs.Environmental
Conditions:--- Typical office setting in urban/rural environment in
