Medical Network of Alaska (Capstone Clinic) is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team!
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
SummaryTo effectively assist in the maintenance of MNA buildings, grounds, equipment and their relating systems in a condition of operating excellence.
Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Perform assignments and independent maintenance operations.
Assist in or perform grounds maintenance, roofing repair and exterior building repair
requiring general maintenance or construction skills.
Assist in or perform interior building repairs, alterations or remodeling as directed.Perform furniture, cabinet, and fixture repairs.Assist in or perform building maintenance tasks as directed.
Operate light to moderately heavy vehicles and equipment.
Establish and maintain cooperative relations with co-workers and clients.
Perform heavy manual labor for extended periods. If necessary, work under
undesirable weather conditions.Perform minor expediting duties to and from our many locations
Shovel snow and otherwise maintain safe sidewalks
Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities which may be assigned by the Maintenance Manager or designee.
Requirements:
Valid drivers license
Must possess a strong mechanical and construction aptitude
Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. and to enter and move through limited access and
confined spaces, perform dexterous fine tasks, bend, kneel, squat, etc.
Ability to follow oral and written directions, ask questions, elicit required information.
Ability to perform all work in a neat and professional manner with the initiative and
potential to continue to upgrade personal maintenance skills.
Must possess the ability to competently and professionally construct, maintain, repair
and improve buildings, structures or related systems and equipment.
Demonstrated ability to think clearly and quickly in emergency and stressful situations.
Strong work ethic, integrity and excellent people skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skill: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Problem Solving: Can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Works well in group problem solving situations.
Teamwork: Contributes to building a positive work environment.
Ethics: Treats people with respect, keeps commitments and inspires the trust of others. Works with integrity and ethics.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk and sit. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee may occasionally push or lift up to 80 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff. Requires outside duty and exposure to outside weather conditions.
