General Manager NOTE: The following position is for proposed
new/future business within First Transit. Only candidates meeting

Puerto Rico and Canada. About the Position Join the First Transit
team as a General Manager in Anchorage, AK. The manager will
initiate, develop, and maintain a successful contract relationship.
First Transit General Managers are committed to safety, customer
service, and hands-on experience in all transportation business
- Handling all contractual services, including administrative
functions, operations, information systems, parts purchasing, and
- Ensuring compliance with all company procedures and
- Ensuring services are provided within budget and action plans
developed and implemented to improve operational efficiencies.
- Maintaining company and contractual assets (vehicles,
facilities, inventories, tools, and equipment). Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in
Business, Public Administration, Transportation, or a related
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in public transit. Experience
serving in the position of general manager or assistant general
manager for a similar size public transit system is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local
laws, rules, and regulations.
- Extensive experience in applying and administering FTA and
state capital and operating grants.
- Experience in purchasing capital items and equipment using
state and federal funds.
- Experience managing a capital development program. First for a
