Salary Range: $42-60,000 depending on experience

Job Summary:
This position plays a key role in achieving IPCoMM's mission through planning, implementing, and managing hunter communications programs; assisting in convening of Board and stakeholder meetings; and budget, grant, and contract management. The position has administrative and management responsibility for the organization, and has ongoing contact with the public and external agencies. Reports to the Executive Director.
Essential Functions:
• Serve as a point of contact for marine mammal hunters to voice subsistence concerns.
• Update and maintain the IPCoMM website and social media accounts (e.g. Facebook).
• Work closely with IPCoMM team in assisting with the production and distribution of outreach, newsletters and other printed materials.
• Manage IPCoMM databanks and databases to ensure security and accessibility.
• Coordinate and manage communications, budgets, reports, and initiate appropriate follow-up actions.
• Work closely with IPCoMM Executive Director to ensure clear and timely communication, reporting, and meeting coordination consistent with the organization's Bylaws.
• Assist in grant and contract preparation, acquisition, reporting and compliance.
• Prioritize and plan work activities, projects goals and objectives.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, staff, members, government representatives, and general public.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
• Interpersonal skills that allow for interaction and working directly with IPCoMM members, staff, federal agency representatives, and the general public.
• Familiarity with subsistence use, co-management, and marine mammal issues.
• Ability to work well with limited or direct supervision.
• High attention to detail.
• Proficiency in math, accounting, and budgets.
• Excellent time management, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information such as personally identifiable information consistent with IPCoMM Bylaws, policies, and law.
• Accuracy and speed using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency generating reports, data entry, list management and mail merge.
• Knowledge and experience in preparing and managing grants and grant programs.
• Ability to manage conflicts and interact in multi-cultural settings.
• Ability to work in a team setting and be a team player.
• Familiar with subsistence-based Alaska coastal communities and Alaska Native cultures.
• Knowledge of or interest in learning about laws and regulations relating to subsistence such as the Marine Mammal Protection Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Environmental Policy Act.
Education And Experience:
• Bachelor of arts degree, or a minimum of 5 years work experience in a related field.
Work Authorizations:
• Must be able to pass a background check and a Fair Credit Reporting Act check.
• Must not be on the federal System for Award Management debarment list.
• Must provide professional references.
• Valid Alaska driver's license.

Physical Demands:
Performance of this position is primarily sedentary in an office environment with limited clerical support. Must be able to use standard office equipment including computers, phones, copiers, fax machines, scanners, and other standard office equipment. Tasks include use of office equipment and filing, lifting up to 25 pounds, opening filing cabinets, walking, bending, and standing as necessary. Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups through written, telephonic, and in-person meetings. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to medium. The position requires some travel in urban and rural areas using a variety of transportation methods.
