We have an outstanding team of Hospitalists and are looking to replace a retired physician. We have a new opening on the beautiful Kenai Peninsula in Alaska.The hospital is a 49-bed full-service hospital with a 9 bed ICU and an active medical staff of more than 80 physicians and allied medical staff with specialties including Anesthesia, Allergy and Immunology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, ENT, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Long Term Care, Neurology, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Orthopedic Spine, Oral Surgery, Pediatric Oral Surgery, Pain Management, Pathology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Urology, Radiation Oncology and Radiology.The position overview is below:

• The basic schedule is going to be 3 weeks on/3 weeks off, but they can accommodate 2 On/2 Off if it is more desirable.
• We are looking at the need for a daytime hospitalist
• 7am 7pm and the schedule is Monday Sunday
• The normal staffing is to have 2 daytime hospitalists and 1 nocturnist on staff every day
• The hospitalist do basic admissions and discharges, and round on 25-40 patients a day combined
• We do cover the ICU, though there is an E-ICU through Providence for additional support
• No procedures, just vent management The heart of the Kenai Peninsula has lots going on, giving it the feeling of an up-and-coming community. With 5,000 people in town but 30,000 people in the surrounding area, you ll get all the amenities of a big city, along with a very special small-town feel. Whether fishing the Kenai, running a sled dog team, or taking off on a moose hunt, the staff enjoys Alaska's outdoor activities just as much as the patients we serve. We are 2.5 hours to Anchorage and have an airport in town that can get you to Anchorage in about 30 minutes.
