Job Description:
DescriptionPlans, directs, and provides lactation consultation
services for Providence Alaska Medical Center families.
Demonstrates effective clinical assessment, intervention, and
evaluation when providing care for the breastfeeding
couplet.Required qualifications:
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart
Association
- Upon hire: Current certification as a Registered Lactation
Consultant through the International Board of Lactation Consultant
Examiners (IBLCE)
- 2 years as lactation support provider required, such as a
Lactation Consultant, La Leche League Leader , WIC Peer Counselor
or other hospital or community based lactation program
provider.Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in preferably in a health related
discipline.
- Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings.Our
