We are always recruiting for Medical Billing Clerks. The Medical Billing Clerk/Coding is responsible for compiling and maintaining records of charges for goods and services rendered in a healthcare facility. The Billing Clerk handles insurance claims for patients, doctors, and hospitals. The individual will review results from medical transactions and apply codes that allow insurance companies to pay their portions for procedures. The Medical Billing Clerk/Coding should be able to complete the following: General Duties --- Enter patient health insurance information. --- Answer questions from patients regarding changes. --- Process medical claims daily and prepare invoices for non-insured health benefits. --- Review forms for proper medical coding and authorization of services. --- Contact insurance companies to determine if services are covered and will be reimbursed. --- Review charges, verify amounts, and enter insurance codes for compliance. --- Enter charges for services into patient accounts. --- Maintain the billing system. --- Track outstanding claims with errors and claim rejections. --- Initiate appeals on denied claims to seek potential reimbursement. --- Perform filing and other duties as assigned.
