Job Description:
The UAA College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Anthropology
is accepting applications for adjunct instructors. Applicants must
be available to work within Alaska during the length of the
assignment. The Anthropology undergraduate program provides
students with a solid foundation in the contemporary theory and
practice of anthropology through lecture courses and instruction
that encourage critical thinking and provide opportunities for
independent research and fieldwork. Anthropology is about us all
the people of the world. We search for information about modern
diseases we've inherited from our ancestors, how governments are
run, and why families are more diverse than we see on television,
and the causes of domestic violence or addiction. Anthropologists
explore how languages affect the way we think and identify
ourselves to others, and even the beginnings of language, symbolic
thought, and music.
