View driveThese are seasonal, full-time (40 hours per week) positions will begin on August 1, 2022 and ends approximate 6 months from hire date.Example of DutiesMaintain the Municipality of Anchorage park land and facilities in a safe and useable condition for the general public to enjoy. The Parks Caretaker I is the first level in the park maintenance series. Perform routine park maintenance under general supervision. The distinction between this level and other levels of park maintenance workers is based upon the level and the complexity of duties performed and the degree of supervision received and exercised. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the Municipality of Anchorage park land and facilities in a safe and usable condition for the general public to enjoy. This position performs routine park maintenance under general supervision. Winter season Duties: litter collection; snow & ice removal from sidewalks; outdoor recreational ice maintenance; track setting; trail grooming and maintenance; special event preparation and support; and general grounds cleaning and repair. Summer season Duties: turf and irrigation maintenance; removal & cleanup of unauthorized or illegal campsites; litter collection; athletic and multi-use field maintenance; trail maintenance; park fence and barrier repairs; park shelters, amenities and equipment cleaning and repair; special event preparation and support; and general grounds and facility care. Perform other related duties as assigned..Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / PreferencesSix (6) months experience in lawn, landscape, trails, construction, grounds, or facility maintenance.Must possess a valid State of Alaska driver's license at time of hire.Preferences:
    • Experience maintaining records and preparing reports.
    • Experience maintaining positive customer relations
    • Experience in performing facility maintenance and housekeeping duties.Additional Important InformationIf selected for hire, applicant must be capable of bending, twisting, and kneeling.
