COOK INLET TRIBAL COUNCIL, INC.JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Training CoordinatorDepartment: Employment & Training Services Department (ETSD)Reports To: Education and Training ManagerSupervises: NoneFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPay Grade: N4Job Type: Regular, Full-TimeAKBCU: Yes ICPA: YesGeneral Functions:The Training Coordinator determines basic eligibility and manages the recruitment and enrollments for the Education and Training Grants. This position assesses and facilitates job readiness activities, and coordinates work experience and job placements. The Training Coordinator tracks students' progress to achieve program outcomes, input and analyze data, and provides direct case management and referral services to students who receive the Education and Training Grants in the service area. Duties and Responsibilities included but not limited to:Provide outreach and recruitment of students into the NACTEP/Eklutna Inc./STEP/Tribal Training Grants program.Assess, interview, and select students for training programs.Identify potential training, employment barriers and assist participants in development plans and solutions to overcome these barriers.Collect all necessary data, create and maintain case files. Complete data entry and filing of all program-related documents.Complete required reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Coordinate student enrollment and completion of a CITC life skills curriculum class with the CITC Employment and Training program.Provide individual coaching and guidance to students who will be retained in post-secondary education or transfer to an associate or baccalaureate degree program following the successful completion of training programs.Refer students to Subsidized Work Experience Coordinator for work experience and job placements.Provide unsubsidized job placement assistance to students who have completed training.Maintain confidentiality according to regulations, policies, and procedures. Perform all other related duties as needed and assigned.Job Specifications:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities.Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent customer service skills.Demonstrated ability to respond to common inquiries, complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Demonstrated ability to work in a team atmosphere.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the social, health, education, and training and cultural needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian community.Minimum Core Competencies: CITC Values, Respectful Leadership, Professionalism, Emotional Intelligence, Problem Solving/Critical Thinking, Communication Skills.Minimum Qualifications:Associate's degree in majoring in Education, Vocational Education, Human Resources, Business, Communication or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Three (3) years related work experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities related to this position.Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal background check. Valid Alaska driver's license and insurable under CITC's automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age and have had a driver's license for at least three years.Preferred qualifications:Experience working in a social services or non-profit setting.NATIVE PREFERENCE STATEMENT: Pursuant to the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act of 1975 (PL 93-638) and as further guided by CITC's Native Preference Policy 6.120, CITC maintains preference in all phases of employment for Alaska Native, American Indian (AN/AI) and Native Hawaiian people, including direct lineal descendants and foster or traditionally adopted children.
