Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the dispatching and routing of Company and third-party drivers transporting goods from the lower 48 to Alaska. Will provide other logistics support when workload allows.--- Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures.
--- Plan, prioritize and execute deliveries to warehouses by dispatching Company drivers or vetting, hiring and dispatching third-party drivers
--- Provide drivers with information about routes, traffic, terminal conditions, obstacles and requirements
--- Monitor/report out-gate and in-gate activities and dispatch empty container return to avoid storage charges.
--- Escalate discrepancy in the information and data to the respective teams and ensure resolutions are delivered
--- Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed
--- Coordinate repair and maintenance needs of drivers and vendors
--- Ensure food inspection reports meet customs documentation requirements
--- Keep customer informed of statuses and delivery times

Qualifications
--- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Statistics or related field OR 3 years' experience in logistics, distribution, transportation or related area
--- Previous dispatching experience in the trucking or transportation industryKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

--- Proficient use of MS Office Suite
--- Working knowledge of transportation industry software
--- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines
--- Ability to work independently and problem solve
--- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills
--- Exceptional customer service both internally and externally
--- Working knowledge of DOT regulations, weights, measures and hours of service requirements and US/Canadian customs
