Providence is calling a LTC Unit Coordinator LPN (LTC
Administration, Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Seward
Medical Center in Seward, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers

We are offering LPNs who are not currently working for
Providence or one of our affiliates a $10,000 sign on bonus to join
our amazing nursing team! $5000 on your first paycheck and $5000 at
12 months. Repayment would be required based on a prorated amount
if you do not complete the minimum retention requirement.*
In this position you will:
CLERICAL SUPPORT: Accurately transcribe orders for patients'
plan of care. Performs computer order entry, prints, transcribes
and recopies MARs as needed and updates Physician orders and care
plan as appropriate. Assists in scheduling treatments. Follows up
with physicians to obtain signatures for time sensitive orders.
Maintains and operates multiple telecommunication systems.
Understands the process for downtime slips. Assists with the
ordering of unit and patient care supplies. Processes and follows
up on work order requests for any unit repairs. May oversee Nurse
and CNA schedules as directed by department manager.
- RECORD KEEPING: Accurately maintain patient charts and unit
records according to procedure. Maintains filing system for
department charts and chart components. Reviews patient charges
and/or charts daily. Assists in developing and maintaining patient
charge processes that are current, appropriate and compliant with
- COMMUNICATION/TEAMWORK: Communicate in a compassionate and
professional manner. Demonstrates professional interpersonal skills
and cooperates with other departments and members of the care
delivery team to provide optimal continuity of care to patients and
their families. Demonstrates commitment to teamwork and interacts
harmoniously with others. Collaborates to ensure team success.
Supports new orientees in learning department routines.
- CRITICAL THINKING AND ORGANIZATION: Utilize available
resources. Recognizes errors/problems and takes corrective action.
Demonstrates effective priority setting and organization skills to
promote department flow and cost efficiency. Ensures smooth,
efficient services and maximizes comfort and confidentiality for
the patient. Anticipates and prioritizes workflow and adjusts work
assignments to prevent delays and meet work flow demands. Assists
with problems resolutions.
- PERSONNEL: Demonstrate knowledge and support of quality
improvement goals. Participates in department projects or
committees as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Graduate of a School of Nursing
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Current Alaska
- Current AHA BLS
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Two (2) years experience in Long Term Care setting

Providence Mountain Haven is the first Green House home in
Alaska, which is includes 4-lodges, each with 10-Elders. Teams are
self-managed, have consistent staffing, and have strong patient to
caregiver ratio. Caregivers typically have 5:1 patient ratio and
work 12-hour shifts. Nestled against Iron Mountain, in Seward, AK,
it is a great home for Elders to live out their later years!
