Alaska Overview ConocoPhillips Alaska and its heritage companies have more than 50 years of business history in Alaska. As Alaska's largest oil and gas producer, the company produced an average 182 thousand barrels of oil 2017. ConocoPhillips, with about 1,100 Alaska employees, holds major ownership interests in the Prudhoe Bay Unit, the Kuparuk River Unit, and the Colville River Unit (Alpine). ConocoPhillips operates the Kuparuk and Alpine oil fields on the North Slope. The company has an ownership interest in the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet. Description ConocoPhillips Alaska Wells team is responsible for the planning and execution of coiled tubing drilling, well completion, workovers, intervention, well testing and well integrity work scope. If you are selected as the Wells Advisor you will be responsible for mentoring the engineering groups within wells, improving the quality of plans and procedures, advance technology opportunities. Wells Advisor will report to the Wells Manager. Your responsibilities may include: Maintain safety as a core principle in every aspect of the job and serve as a safety leader Champion technology implementation to improve the profitability of the projects Continuously evaluate the supplier technologies and develop pilot projects as appropriate working closely with the engineering supervisors and engineers Provide mentorship to a large group of CTD, workover, completion and well intervention engineers Identify and ress procedural or operational gaps to improve the execution Assist in developing proper contingency plans and improve the success rate of the challenging work scopes Help manage equipment and fluids testing for new completion designs Help implement effective sand control Be a leader in 'Doing Business Better,' making decisions that value to the organization Collaborate with asset and well engineering teams to ensure optimization of programs ress any other special projects as required by wells manager Qualifications Basic/Required: Legally authorized to work in the United States Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or foreign equivalent 10+ years of experience in well engineering and operations Advanced level of proficiency with the design and implementation of well work and completions in oil and gas wells Willing and able (with or without a reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time to the wellsite for critical operations and provide effective support for well operations on a yearly basis Preferred: 15 + years experience in well engineering and operations Working knowledge of at least 3 of the following areas: Well Completions: Completion equipment design, selection and installation, Sand control design and execution, well stimulation Production: Artificial lift methodology including gas lift, ESP and / or jet pumps Coiled tubing drilling Rig Workovers Well intervention experience in Eline, Slickline and Coil Operations and well integrity Well organized, good social skills and the ability to interact with multiple asset teams, engineering team and field personnel on a day-to-day basis Highly reciprocal and committed to a team approach but capable of independent and timely completion of tasks with a track record for delivery Experience working in production engineering/optimization Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals Understands how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business To be considered for this position you must complete the entire application process, which includes answering all prescreening questions and providing your eSignature on or before the requisition closing date of November 29, 2019.
