Education - Bachelor's Degree - Associate's Degree Skills - Budgeting - Fundraising The Alaska State Council on the Arts (ASCA) is seeking a Fine Arts Administrator to join our Anchorage team. This fine arts administrator position is responsible for visual and literary arts programs, in ition to general grants administration and other fine arts administrative duties related to marketing and communications. This position involves communities and art organizations in the planning of the Council's activities and programs; develops assessments and evaluation processes for grants, services, and program areas. The incumbent schedules, organizes, and facilitates jury and panel meetings relating to program areas and assists in developing the Council's strategic plan. In ition, the Fine Arts Administrator makes recommendations to the Executive Director concerning program goals, plans, and grant awards; advises the Executive Director of potential challenges and immediate concerns regarding the Council's grant and service programs; and works with the Executive Director to research and develop alternate funding sources for visual and literary programs. This position coordinates and directs the quarterly and annual grant review processes; researches, identifies, and trains qualified grant review panelists; and advises panel chairs on funding requirements and procedures. The incumbent supports fiscal control of organizational grants including preparing and tracking grant contracts, payments, and evaluation notices. This position disseminates arts sector research and prepares summaries and statistical reports relating to ASCA's programs and initiatives for the Executive Director, the Council, constituents, and regional and national agencies. This position serves as the coordinator for the agency website, newsletter, and social media content development, including video documentation of agency activities and development of educational materials. This position will also be responsible for press releases and will assist the Executive Director with evaluation and reports for funders and legislators, mailings and other material development according to the organizational development needs of ASCA. This position helps identify potential sources of funding for art programs, workshops, and projects and provides advice on preparing grant applications. The incumbent assists organizations and individuals ining for, managing, and accounting for ASCA grant funds and communicates the status of grants requests with applicants. The incumbent must be comfortable delivering public presentations and traveling to remote areas of the state, often in small planes. Our ideal applicant will possess some or all of the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience: Experience working in arts grants administration and/or knowledge of grant funding in the arts sector in collaboration with arts partners, cross-sector peers and statewide and national arts networks. Experience working with statutes and regulations that govern activities while being aware of codes such as ethics, etc. Experience networking with multiple cultural groups and facilitating projects that are inclusive and diverse. Skilled and proficient use of technology for graphic design, video, website development, print publications, program budgeting and communication and outreach. Experience planning and executing large scale events and logistics. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This is a fully exempt position, and as such Minimum Qualifications are not established. Desired qualifications include: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, or equivalent credits in fine arts, film, visual arts or arts administration; with at least three years in arts administration positions, fundraising, non-profit management, marketing, or a closely related field; AND at least two years of experience working in the arts sector as an artist. The three years of experience in the arts may be obtained concurrently with the experience as an artist if the work was in an arts related organization in a leadership position as a volunteer or paid staff member. Substitution: Associate's degree from an accredited college, OR at least five years of experience preferably in fine arts, film, visual arts or arts administration; with at least four years in arts administration positions, fundraising, non-profit management, marketing, or a closely related field; AND at least two years of experience working in the arts sector as an artist. The four years of experience in the arts may be obtained concurrently with the experience as an artist if the work was in an arts related organization in a leadership position as a volunteer or paid staff member.
