Job Description:

A Human Resources Generalist is a mid-level human resources professional who serves as a general expert in a wide range of human resource-related tasks. He or she is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational & conflict management skills. One should have excellent negotiation & problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask & adapt in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.To ensure success, the HR Generalist should exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management & training. Top talent will be comfortable managing grey areas, systematized in payroll processing, effective at scheduling & methodical in the recruitment process. While this person would be responsible for creating, updating & applying all HR policies & company guidelines & making sure they adhere to standards & laws initiated by Local, State & Federal authorities.Responsibilities include:* Participating in developing organizational guidelines & procedures* Responsible for the full cycle recruitment & selection process while collaborating with departmental managers to understand the skills & competencies required for openings. (this includes managing multiple job requisitions, posting, & managing jobs on career sites, screening, qualifying, interviewing, participating in career fairs & securing contract labor)* Accurately processes payroll for hourly & salaried staff (to include payroll deductions, salary adjustments, timesheet reconciliation & time/attendance tracking)* Conduct GPC New Hire Orientation, new hire onboarding & offboarding processes (training, terminations, exit interviews)* Maintaining physical & digitals administrative files for employees & their documents, benefits, & attendance records (ensures that all appropriate paperwork is complete & timely)* Provide HR reporting & support on employee relations, performance management (disputes & investigations), progressive discipline, interpretation of policies & procedures & addressing employee grievances* Review, track, & document compliance with mandatory & non-mandatory training, continuing education, & work assessments. This includes safety training, anti-harassment training, & aptitude exams* Ensure consistent application of company policies/procedures & compliance with all federal & state laws regulating the employment relationship as well as company expectations* Performs basic supervisory duties of HR & any associated departmental staff* Represent the company in handling unemployment claims processing as needed* Support benefits administration by conducting benefits orientation, responding to benefits questions, & holding the annual enrollment process* Responsible for timely & accurately updating all employment data in the HRIS system* Facilitates monthly HR events & leadership meetings including but not limited to compensation, benefits, & leave; disciplinary matters; productivity, recognition, & strategies to increase employee morale; occupational health & safety; & training & development.* Respond to inquiries/communicates effectively with personnel with excellent customer service* Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, & new technologies in human resources, talent management, & employment law* Timely & proper processing of Operational & HR-related expenses through the digital PO system* Perform other duties/ tasks as determined by the Human Resource ManagerRequired Skills/Abilities:* Excellent verbal & written communication skills* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, & conflict resolution skills* Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail* Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines* Strong analytical & problem-solving skills* Ability to prioritize tasks & to delegate them when appropriate* Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, & confidentiality* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software* Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS, Payroll, Billing, & Talent Management systemsQualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business preferred* 4-7 years' experience in Human Resources with a broad scope of knowledge base & demonstrated competency in State & Federal law, recruitment/staffing, payroll & employee relations* Strong relationship building skills* PeopleSoft (HR) & Kronos experience strongly preferred* Conflict Management skills* Self-starter with excellent follow up skills* Team Player with a positive attitude* Excellent written & verbal communication skills* Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment* Proficient in Microsoft Office SuitesNot the right fit?
