General Functions:The Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator is
responsible for payroll administration support & benefits entry and
reconciliation for CITC and all subsidiary companies. This position
is supervised the Payroll Manager, is able to act as a backup to
all members of the payroll team, and frequently coordinates with
members of the Human Resources Department to ensure employee
benefits and compensation are administered accurately and in
compliance with internal controls.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Detail reviews time-sheets and verifies authenticity and
accuracy of data entry, payroll and file maintenance.
- Ensures that payroll is properly authorized and disbursed
timely.
- Approves bi-weekly payroll, verifying accurate preparation and
balancing with the general ledger.
- Processes various payroll adjustments and changes.
- Ensures benefit deductions reconcile to enrollment
documents.
- Manages 401(k) plan and quarterly/annual reporting
- Assists Payroll Manager and Human Resources with ADP System
Administration
- Acts as a liaison between Human Resources and Payroll to
facilitate discussion about system overlap.
- Prepares periodical payroll related analysis, statements and
projections.
- Maintains all records in connection with payments made on
behalf of employees.
- Collaborates with Managers to confirm proper coding of all
payroll postings.
- Process, maintain and update payroll and records; and compile
reports from database as needed and/or upon request.
- Assist in maintaining and updating accounting's electronic
folders and file management system.
- Participate in CITC staff development training and meet
attendance requirements.
- Maintains confidentiality according to regulations.
- Performs all related duties as assigned.Job Specifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong understanding of benefits reconciliation including 401k
and audit.
- Strong Excel knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to complete work in a timely and accurate
manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with management and
staff, and to effectively communicate with regulatory and taxing
authorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work as an active participant in a team
environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide administrative support in a
timely and efficient manner with few errors.Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field. Relevant
experience may substitute for degree requirement on a year-for-year
basis.
- Two (2) years' related experience in payroll.
- Minimum one (1) year in all relevant payroll functions,
including: maintenance, preparation, data entry, balancing and
payroll taxes.
- Minimum one (1) year in benefits reconciliation and/or
administration.
- Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion
of state and federal background check.Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (4) years' related experience in payroll and general
ledger reconciliations.
- Experience with ADP
- Experience with payroll system conversion
- Two (2) years' experience with reconciliations and benefit
administration
