visit feel personal and unforgettable. WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS
JOB? Coordinate and manage company transportation assets. Provide
and arrange services to move guests and cargo in a safe, courteous,
and timely manner. Responsible for maintaining records in
accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation and company
standards. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in training and
evaluating drivers - Supervise and schedule drivers to ensure guest
service requirements are met and/or exceeded - Operate and
coordinate guest transportation requirements with driver and
vehicle availability to provide complete coverage while managing
costs - Present excellent first impressions to guests and employees
by being courteous, friendly, informative, and vigilant regarding
their safety and enjoyment - Coordinate and communicate with guest
service office, groups coordinator, and marine staff to ensure
guests receive the best possible service and that important
information is shared throughout the company - Maintain records in
accordance with company, state, and DOT requirements regarding
vehicle maintenance, driver activities, and traffic incidents -
Manage luggage storage, marking, and distribution plans, ensuring
proper and timely distribution of all luggage - Conduct other
related guest service, transportation, marketing, or light vehicle
maintenance/cleaning tasks as required - Supervise and ensure
completion of daily vehicle inspection reports by drivers - Provide
input to the operations coordinator for future operating and
maintenance budgets WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED FOR THIS
JOB? Skills & Abilities: - Excellent communication skills, both
written and oral; familiarity with tour narration techniques -
Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor; ability
to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management
and staff, affiliated company employees, and outside business
associates - Ability to manage multiple guests demands while
maintaining focus on service and safety - Ability to make
decisions, solve problems, and exercise good judgment - Ability to
work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team
environment - Strong supervisory skills with the ability to
effectively train and manage staff - Current knowledge of Alaska
and Seward history, geography, and standard attractions -
Familiarity with Alaska Collection products preferred PHYSICAL
ABILITIES: - While performing the duties of this job, the employee
is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, see, talk, and hear -
The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms;
climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl - Must
regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds - Must be able to work
in harsh weather conditions for long hours on a variable schedule -
Ability to safely assist loading of elderly or handicapped
customers in or out of commercial transportation MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or any combination of
education and experience that provides the required skills,
knowledge, and abilities - CDL with passenger and air brake
endorsement required - At least two years of accident-free
operation required - Supervisory skills and knowledge of standard
hiring and human resources practices preferred - Familiarity with
cruise ship or group tour operator procedures preferred WHAT WILL
