Hotel Seward
Position Purpose:Service of food and/or beverage to include the
order-taking and delivery of any food and /or beverage items. This
task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and
professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest
satisfaction. -Must hold current or be willing to get Alaska TAMS
training program card.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this
position may be required to perform a combination of the following
supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each
function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the
particular requirements of the company. - - ---- Perform any
general cleaning tasks using standard restaurant cleaning products
as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards. - - ----
Ability to maintain perspective and composure in demanding business
situations such as an irate guest, rush of business or being
short-staffed. - - ---- Ability to divide attention among several
tasks going on at one time. - - ---- Ability to work cooperatively
with others to achieve group work goals. - - ---- Ability to
effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a
friendly and -positive manner. This involves listening to the
nature of the concern, demonstrating -empathy with the customer and
providing positive and proactive solutions. - - ---- Communicates
with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITYThe individual must
possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able
to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential
functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
o Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and
service of various alcoholic beverages.o Basic mathematical skills
necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest
checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other
charges, and understand portion sizes.
o Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of
requisitions, balance -sheets and vouchers.o Sufficient manual
dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up
glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to
retrieve stock.o Ability to read, speak and understand the English
language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.o
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.o
Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to
pre-check an order and close out a check.o Ability to work stand
and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.o Ability to
effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a
friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature
of the concern, demonstrating empathy with -the customer and
providing positive and proactive solutions.NOTICE:The hospitality
business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day.
In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable
service atmosphere must be projected at all times.Upon employment,

operation of hotel facilities. -
