Req ID: MAR00295DescriptionSummaryThe Patient Services Host/Hostess promotes meal assistance for all patients daily which includes meal selection, service, and retrieval. Accurately serves food and beverages to patients in accordance with the patient's diet prescription. Verbally communicates patient concerns with the clinical dietitian (i.E. education needs, inadequate meal consumption, etc.).Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorks closely with and assists patients with making appropriate daily menu selections.Prepares, assembles, and delivers patient meal trays and snacks.assembles trays for modified diets, fluid restrictions, calories, etc. for meals which may include:Check cafeteria and nursing unit areas periodically to make sure all is continually stocked, and everything is full/working.Performs assorted kitchen duties including sanitation, set-up and completing temperature logs.Responsible for HACCP logs, tray assessments, and, file organization.Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsMust have High School diploma or GED equivalent.Must have at least 6 mo. of food service experience in the hospital, restaurant or hospitality industry.Must have Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler's Card or ServSafe contingent upon 30 days of hire.Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.Preferred QualificationsFirst Aid, C.P.R. preferred.Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsWeather: Indoors, environmentally controlled.Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually mildDescription of environment: This is an industrial kitchen located in a healthcare setting.Physical requirements: Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
