community we serve. POSITION SUMMARY: Under supervision, performs
routine x-ray examinations of extremities, spine, skull, chest and
abdominal studies. Fluoroscopy is not performed at the Anchorage
Neighborhood Health Center. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Radiography Properly operates digital radiography and software
components and is familiar with all routine radiographic
procedures. Understands Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) and is
able to adjust mA and KVP settings for the appropriate technique.
Takes preventative steps to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation
such as properly shielding the patient and using as low a dose as
possible. Uses manual technique if necessary. Uses proper markers
on each radiographic exam and uses electronic markers as
appropriate. Performs quality assessment on each exam regarding
proper positioning, exposure, and optimal viewing specifications.
Troubleshoots radiology unit, hardware and software issues as they
arise. Disinfects the radiographic equipment between each patient
and cleans room daily and as appropriate. Observes standard
precautions, airborne, droplet, and contact precautions if
applicable. Ensures all exam protocols are properly arranged by
rotating and flipping images in the appropriate sequence. Exam
Processing Check patient in and create appointment in Epic,
ensuring all applicable orders are correct and performed.
Coordinates the flow of information and images from Epic, Cannon,
Shimadzu, E-rad and Clario. Evaluates image quality, accurate
demographics, and ensures images are sent in the appropriate format
to the Reading Radiologist. Modifies and edits patient demographics
in Clario if needed. Processes and create copies of digital images
for patients and requesting providers. Paperwork, Billing and
Reporting Provide patient education on BCHC to ensure eligible
patients are enrolled. Identifies Medicare patients and prepares an
ABN. Ensures all Radiology procedures are accounted for with
correct orders, diagnosis and CPT codes. Coordinate with Imaging
Associates and accounting to ensure invoices are charged and
accounted for. Identify patients who are part of programs where
grant money may be applied. Ensures final routine x-ray reports and
images are available in Epic or Clario. SUPPORTING DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Support mammography personnel in scheduling
patients, mailing reminders and reports as well as any other
necessary tasks. Provide training for laboratory and radiology
personnel on Epic Radiant processes. Assist clinical staff to
ensure orders are placed correctly. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND

environment characteristics described here are representative of

essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and
bend; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and
arms; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or
move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include ability to adjust focus. Work is performed in a

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Work Experience: One
year experience preferred Education, Certification and Licensure:
Current ARRT RT certification or must obtain ARRT RT certification
within one year of employment. Must have and maintain current
BLS/CPR certification. Additional Skills & Knowledge: Bilingual
preferred
