Job Description:
Description Seeking Medical Provider to work Evening Clinic
shifts (Monday - Thursday, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm). Multiple schedule
options available. POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of this position
is to provide high quality medical services within the scope of
family medicine which encompasses all ages, both sexes, each organ
system and every disease entity. Responsible for the provision of
comprehensive primary and preventive health care services to
patients in a primary medical care ambulatory clinic or telehealth
setting in collaboration with a physician. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Makes initial assessment and diagnosis of the
patient's health status; performs physical examination. Obtains
appropriate diagnostic tests and x-rays; interprets findings;
provides routine medical care and treatment. Prescribes medications
to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
Provides general health education regarding matters such as proper
diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living and
health maintenance. Develops and implements patient care plans,
instructs and counsels patients, and records progress. Exercises
professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising
physicians concerning appropriate treatment. Refers patients to
other provider or care staff within the Center for referral to
outside specialists for consultative services as may be required
for the patient’s well-being. Works a regularly planned clinic
schedule and maintains a level of productivity in keeping with
Medicare and other guidelines while maintaining the highest quality
of care for the patients. As an employee of a federally qualified
health center, the Physician Assistant will see all scheduled
patients regardless of race, ethnicity, social or economic
designation and will demonstrate sensitivity to cultural
differences and needs. Responsible for accurate, timely, and
complete documentation in patient records. Keeps customer service
and the mission of the organization in mind when interacting with
all clients, co-workers, and others. SUPPORTING DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs therapeutic procedures, such as
immunizations, injections, suturing and wound care, and managing
infection. Assists physician, as required, for emergency treatment
and more complex procedures. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Work Experience: Five
to Eight years ’ experience required, preferably within ambulatory
care or internal medicine setting. Experience working with diverse
populations of all ages, including patients experiencing
homelessness or who are HIV positive, is preferred. Education,
Certification and Licensure: Obtain and possess licensure in the
State of Alaska as a Physician Assistant and unrestricted DEA
certification, meet minimum CME requirements as per licensing board
on a yearly basis and maintain CPR/BLS certification. Additional
Skills & Knowledge: Bilingual preferred. Interpersonal skills that
demonstrate compassion and the ability to effectively communicate
and treat diverse cultures and people. PHYSICAL, SENSORY,
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATIONS: The work environment characteristics

job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
frequently required to perform physical examinations and
procedures; reach with hands and arms; fine motor control; and see,
talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to
25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work is performed in
a healthcare clinic and office setting. Occupational exposure to
blood or other potentially infectious materials may reasonably be
anticipated during the performance of patient care duties. ANHC is
