Job Description:
Description POSITION SUMMARY: To provide comprehensive primary
medical care services to patients in a primary medical care
ambulatory clinic or telehealth setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and maintains proficiency in delivery of
primary care medical services per ANHC Provider Policies and
Procedures as outlined in the Practice Management Manual.
Communicates the plan of care and all pertinent information to
other members of the health care team to provide coordinated
patient treatment. Shares in delivery of after-hours and inpatient
obstetrical/newborn medical care by cooperatively participating in
the hospital call schedule, including community call. Develops and
maintains a working knowledge of basic CPR, anaphylaxis treatment,
and emergency protocols as determined by the Quality Assurance
Committee. Practices ethical conduct at all times during patient
contact. Maintains an effective professional and respective
relationship with other members of the health care team. Maintains
current written collaborative relationship with collaborative
midlevel practitioners. Participates in the development and
maintenance of triage and advice guidelines for front desk team,
staff nurses and nurse team lead. Participates in BPHC audits, case
management reviews, risk management activities and quality
assurance reviews as necessary. Participates in the yearly
evaluation of peers, supervisors, and the provider's nurse. Keeps
customer service and the mission of the organization in mind when
interacting with all clients, co-workers, and others. As an
employee of a federally qualified health center, the Staff
Physician will see all scheduled patients regardless of race, age,
ethnicity, social or economic designation and will demonstrate
sensitivity to cultural differences and needs. Record complete,
timely and legible medical records. SUPPORTING DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Acts as back up when other physicians are not
available. Maintains a consultative relationship with midlevel
practitioners. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. Work Experience: Must be able to provide care
for all age ranges. Education, Certification and Licensure:
Graduate of an accredited medical school. Completion of U.S.G.M.E.
approved Residency Program. Board certification preferred: board
eligible if new residency graduate. Obtain and possess current
Alaska medical licensure and DEA certification, obtain and maintain
membership in applicable specialty board, meet minimum CME
requirements as per licensing board on a yearly basis, maintain
BLS/CPR certification and obtain and maintain current staff
privileges at local hospitals as determined by the Chief Medical
Officer. Additional Skills & Knowledge: Bilingual preferred. Other:
Travel within Anchorage to local hospitals, nursing homes and other
health facilities as required to manager patient care, participate
on committees and/or represent clinical interests of ANHC.

essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is regularly required to perform physical
examinations and procedures, reach with hands and arms, fine motor
control; and see, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally
lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust
focus. Work is performed in a healthcare clinic and office setting.
An individual in this position may be exposed to communicable
diseases and other diseases common to health settings, blood-borne
pathogens, and physical hazards. ANHC is a tobacco-free campus.
