HCA Healthcare, a preeminent provider of healthcare services, is seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Extern for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role provides a unique opportunity for nursing students to gain hands-on experience and mentorship in a high-intensity clinical environment, helping you advance your skills while contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care. As part of our team, you will work directly under the supervision of experienced nurses and medical staff, assisting with patient care and gaining exposure to the critical needs of ICU patients. Assist registered nurses and medical staff in the delivery of patient care Monitor patient vital signs and report abnormalities Help maintain a safe and clean environment Prepare and administer medications as supervised Participate in patient assessments and contribute to the treatment plan Engage in learning opportunities to further develop clinical skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to follow detailed instructions Basic clinical skills (e.g., taking vital signs, patient hygiene) Crisis intervention and stress management Familiarity with medical terminology Capability to utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
