Job Description:
The Alaska Family Medicine Residency (AKFMR) is seeking an
Associate Program Director (APD) of Clinical Affairs. This APD role
will be an integral part of the Residency Leadership team together
with the Program Director, APD of Academic Affairs, and APD of
Behavioral Health. In addition, the APD will have core faculty
duties. AKFMR has one Family Medicine Practice (FMP) site for
residents. The FMP has a separate medical director with a proven
dedication to resident education, with whom this position will
partner closely to ensure an excellent clinical learning
environment for residents. Along with focusing on resident
education in outpatient clinic, the APD will support resident
learning in inpatient and other settings as well. At the Alaska
Family Medicine Residency (AKFMR), we offer a rigorous curriculum
to prepare residents for full-scope family medicine, with an
emphasis on rural and underserved communities. Most training occurs
in Anchorage, Alaska caring for a diverse, underserved urban
population. Our patients in clinic speak>90 languages. All
residents spend time in remote rural Alaska, working in small
communities off the road system. Our graduates currently work in
all settings including outpatient, ER, OB, inpatient adult & peds,
ICU, and fellowships. As an integral member of the AKFMR faculty,
you will be in an advisory role to residents while also taking part
in clinical duties such as precepting residents in clinic, direct
patient care, outpatient prenatal and pediatric care supervision,
inpatient care, and more. Join a collegial and supportive faculty

grandeur. Position Details: Full-time (preferred) Faculty position
working directly with Family Medicine residents Mix of faculty
responsibilities: outpatient clinical work, optional inpatient care
and optional inpatient OB (including operative OB if interested)

Qualifications & Requirements: Board certified Family Medicine
Physician Prior teaching/precepting experience preferred;
recent/new graduates will also be considered Full-spectrum Family
Medicine preferred, however not required Strong background or
interest in academic Primary Care preferred Experience/interest in
conducting and publishing research is a plus AKFMR has Osteopathic
Recognition; D.O. candidates with an interest in OMT is a plus
