Reports To: Executive Director FLSA Status: Full Time/40 hours per
week; Exempt Education and Work Experience: • Bachelor's Degree in
field related to social services or three years' experience in the
field of substance abuse/mental health or related field, and three
years' supervisory experience required. • Three years of direct
clinical experience in the treatment of chemical dependency,
substance use disorders, and dual diagnosis/co-occurring disorders.
• Expert in the knowledge of Substance Related and Addictive
Disorders and its treatment. • Experience consistent with the
requirements for Alaska State Certification Chemical Dependency
Counselor I (CDCI), though a Chemical Dependency Counselor II
(CDCII), certificate is preferred. • Able to obtain Alaska State
CDCI Certification within one year from date of hire. • Alaska
driver's license with acceptable criminal history and driving
records Scope of Position/Essential Functions: The Assistant
Residential Clinical Manager/Operations Manager will facilitate
groups, attend staff meetings, and oversee the day-to-day aspects
of the Clitheroe Residential schedule, including client monitoring
and supervision. They will maintain and enhance treatment
capabilities by hiring, training, coaching, and monitoring the Lead
Behavioral Health Associates, Behavioral Health Associates (BHA),
Case Mangers, the Lead Cook and the Cooks. They will assist in
developing clinical curriculum, group schedules, meet licensing
requirements, and implement therapeutic interventions. They will be
responsible for evaluating treatment effectiveness, ordering, and
maintaining stock of clinical materials, and will liaison with
community partners, probation/parole/ furlough officers. They will
ensure the integrity of the overall program schedule of client
activities. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: • Proficiency
in using general office equipment, Microsoft Office Suite, AKAIMS
databases, and report-generating programs. • Expert knowledge of
Substance Related and Addictive Disorders and the treatment
thereof. • Skilled in the areas of group, individual and family
counseling, didactic presentations, case management, treatment
planning, discharge planning, crisis prevention/intervention,
clinical evaluation, quality assurance, personnel management,
recordkeeping, and documentation requirements. • Ability to conduct
training for clinical staff. • Knowledge of cross-cultural issues,
CARF certification, DBH requirements, and skilled in working with
diverse population. Essential Functions: • Support the needs of the
Executive Director to ensure the highest quality of treatment
occurs at the program. • Directly Supervises the BHAs, Lead BHAs,
Peer support Specialists, Case Managers, Lead Cook and Cooks. •
Supervises the day-to-day schedule of residents. • Develops and
conducts training on clinical curriculum. • Maintains inventory of
clinical materials for entire facility • Milieu Management
including implementation of therapeutic interventions, maintaining
intervention binder, managing crisis, and assisting on unit as
needed. • Supervises the collecting, ordering and documentation of
all urinalyses, and train all employees on the process and
procedures regarding the collection of urinalyses. • Oversees the
work of all directly supervised positions to ensure quality
services for clients from intake to discharge. • Conducts
orientation with new employees; supervise the performance of all
directly supervised positions by consistently providing positive
feedback to the staff when deserved to encourage competence. •
Provide coaching, counseling, and initiating progressive
disciplinary actions with staff as needed; Plans and implement
training for operations staff on a scheduled basis and participates
in training of clinical staff as needed. • Attends treatment team
meetings and staff meetings regularly; analyze and updates
curricula for support staff on an annual basis; use evidence-based
practices and client feedback to improve services and treatment
outcomes. • Collaborates with team members to ensure excellent
client care and to ensure facility meets requirements for
licensing, implement changes as necessary. • Responsible for the
minute-by-minute (24/7) implementation of the daily residential
program schedule, including all activities. • Coordinates all
supportive services such as monitoring medication
self-administration, urine collection/analysis, and special events
for clients such as the annual Christmas party and other holiday
activities and oversee the driving/transportation schedule. •
Responsible for the continual 24/7 client management, monitoring
and supervision, and client activities, including regular location
verification checks of each client per established policies and
procedures. Client management includes non-physical de-escalation
and non-violent physical crisis intervention per policies and
procedures. • Serves as operational liaison between residential and
outpatient units; coordinates relevant services and enhances
intra-agency communication and cooperation. • Chair operations
staff team meetings; attend quality assurance meetings; conduct
client interventions; and conduct regular reviews of BHAs'
documentation work to ensure quality and compliance of records. •
Participates in Electronic Health Records documentation and oversee
BHAs in their use of lntergy/EHR. • Shares On-Call evening and
weekend duties with the Executive Director. • Performs other
reasonably related duties as assigned Software-related Skills:
Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required; Intergy EHR, working
knowledge of database applications and ability to use new software
programs with basic training. Work Environment: The work
environment is located in a residential treatment setting. Language
Skills: Must be able to understand, follow and give both written
and oral instructions. The employee must be able to use speech and
hearing for ordinary and telephone conversation. Mathematical
Skills: Must be able to perform simple calculations (addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and division) and apply concepts such
as ratios and percentages in practical situations. Performance
Skills: Must be creative, self-motivated, organized, and flexible.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat,
climb, kneel and twist on intermittent or continuous basis. Ability
to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate a
telephone. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to access and
produce information from a computer. Ability to understand written
