Job Description Job Description Job Title: RN – Quality Management & Accreditation Location: Sitka, AK Position Type: Full-Time | Quality & Regulatory Leadership Specialty: Long-Term Care (LTC) | QAPI Position Overview The RN – Quality Management & Accreditation (LTC QAPI) serves as the Long-Term Care QAPI Coordinator , responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and evaluating consistent, high-quality clinical care delivery through established standards, policies, protocols, and performance improvement processes. This role ensures compliance with CMS and other applicable regulatory and accreditation bodies while supporting continuous survey readiness. As a key member of the Long-Term Care interdisciplinary team, this position promotes resident safety, regulatory compliance, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives using the QAPI framework. The role works closely with administration, providers, leaders, and staff to drive quality outcomes and patient safety improvements across the organization. Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) Collaborate with Long-Term Care leadership on overall QAPI objectives Plan, organize, and direct quality assurance and performance improvement programs Lead quality initiatives, projects, education, and coaching across departments Integrate QAPI activities into daily operations and staff responsibilities Conduct ongoing performance assessments, analyze clinical outcome data, and identify trends and improvement opportunities Develop, implement, and maintain a formal QAPI plan Design and facilitate annual QAPI program evaluations and quality committee discussions Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation Ensure compliance with CMS and other applicable regulatory and accreditation standards Coordinate regulatory surveys and maintain continuous accreditation readiness Participate in facility surveys and survey response activities Review, write, and revise policies, procedures, survey reports, and facility-wide assessments Establish and maintain tracking systems for quality recommendations and corrective actions Develop and implement plans of correction for identified deficiencies Assist in developing follow-up procedures to monitor identified problem areas Risk, Safety & Infection Control Collaborate with the Risk Manager to conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) as needed Maintain records related to facility-reported incidents and event reporting systems Assist with investigations of incident reports, complaints, and resident care concerns Support infection prevention and control activities aligned with organizational standards and regulatory expectations Collaboration & Leadership Organize and facilitate quality committee meetings, including agenda development, performance measure review, prioritization of improvement initiatives, and meeting documentation Prepare and present written and verbal reports to leadership regarding QAPI program performance Communicate professionally and effectively with staff at all organizational levels Serve as a resource, mentor, and role model for quality and safety practices Support Quality Management activities including chart audits, rounding, accreditation support, and committee facilitation Provide cross-coverage for other Quality Management team roles as needed Education, Certifications & Licensure Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska Direct hires must apply for licensure prior to start date Agency staff must hold an active Alaska RN license Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), QAPI Certified Professional (QCP), or other Long-Term Care quality certification required within 3 years of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association Clinical Competency Assessment (initial and periodic, per policy) Experience Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience in quality management, regulatory compliance, or performance improvement Demonstrated leadership experience facilitating cross-functional teams Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments Preferred: Experience working in Long-Term Care settings For more details reach at jmckenzie@navitashealth.com About Navitas Healthcare, LLC: It is a certified WBENC and one of the fastest-growing healthcare staffing firms in the US providing Medical, Clinical and Non-Clinical services to numerous hospitals.
