Medical Social Worker Location: Anchorage, AK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,301 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Inpatient Case Management Social Worker Profession: Social Services Specialty: LMSW (Licensed Masters of Social Worker) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year (acute care experience required) License: AK License as LMSW or LCSW (pending license accepted) Certifications: LMSW or LCSW Must-Have: Must have acute care experience First timers accepted Description: This position involves providing psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families. The social worker will conduct psychosocial assessments and identify appropriate discharge plans. Work is performed with a person-centered approach and in alignment with policy and regulations. Clinicians provide brief clinical interventions as appropriate. Assistance with resource navigation and care coordination is a key responsibility. The role includes screening for suicidality and engaging in safety planning as necessary. Completion of appropriate reports based on state statutes is required. Collaboration with external entities is part of the job. Clinical work is divided into teams focusing on Inpatient Adult, Pediatric, and Emergency services. Effective coordination and execution of safe discharge plans are crucial. The clinician will work closely with RN Case Managers and the care team. Experience with a diverse patient population is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with electronic health record systems is beneficial.
