Surgical First Assistant Location: Anchorage, AK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,994 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: CST First Assist Profession: CST/ORT Specialty: First Assist Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Weekdays Hours per Shift: 06:30 AM - 05:00 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years in Ortho, Total Joints, Neuro, Spine, Robotics License: Current CST and CSTFA Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Patient advocate as circulator while being a resource for the sterile field Description: This position involves first assisting in the operating room. Candidates must have experience in Orthopedics, Total Joints, Neuro, Spine, and Robotics. The operating room has a total of 11 ORs. The typical staffing pattern includes an average of 8 RNs and 8 scrub techs during the day shift. Night shifts will have one charge RN and one scrub tech in-house with call team backup. Patient ratios are expected to be 1:1. A variety of OR beds and equipment are utilized on a daily basis. The electronic medical record software used is Epic. Preferred experience includes vein harvesting and knowledge of various surgical procedures. Typical procedures performed include total joints, multi-level spine fusions, and various robotic cases (GYN, Colorectal, General). Candidates should possess a positive outlook and a willingness to collaborate with team members. This position requires specific certifications and technical skills to ensure patient safety and care quality.
