Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Alaska, requiring an AK RN license and two years of recent experience. Responsibilities - Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting - Care for adult and geriatric patients, including general surgical post-op, diabetes, and burns - Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00 - Every other weekend coverage is required - Patient ratios of 1:5 on days, nights, and weekends - Floating required to other Med/Surg units as needed - Semi-private rooms with a total of 8 beds - Uses Pyxis medication dispensing and Cerner documentation systems - Epic experience preferred for documentation - Provide care for surgical overflow and complex medical patients - Social Services available Monday through Friday and on call during weekends - Modules required during orientation, completed onsite, and recorded via HealthStream - Work in a Magnet recognized facility - Scrubs not provided; any color may be worn - First time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements - Active AK RN license required prior to start, compact license accepted at submission - Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification required - Experience with PCA and epidural care required - COVID vaccination required as a condition of employment - Must live at least 100 miles from the facility - Locals not accepted - Must have not worked at this facility within the last 2 years to be eligible Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627824.
