Job Description:
Description The Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) is responsible for
providing the comprehensive medical-forensic examination adult and
adolescent patients reporting a history of interpersonal violence,
such as sexual assault or domestic violence, including victims and
suspects. FNE is accountable for the delivery of quality nursing
care to this population according to the individualized needs of
the patient by utilizing the nursing process, approved scope and
standards, and in accordance with the Alaska Nurse Practice Act.
FNE must be competent to assess and analyze patient information and
history with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, cultural,
emotional/psychosocial, spiritual, and chronological maturation
process. FNE must function within an environment of crisis
involving sensitive issues, often in conjunction with physical
trauma, psychological trauma, and substance use. Accepts and
promotes professional development as an integral part of evidence
based nursing practice. FNE is responsible to work in collaboration
with law enforcement and advocacy agencies to provide quality
services to all clients who present for care. FNE develops and
maintains good working relationships with team members to ensure
the team response is patient centered and sensitive. Providence

Full Time Night Shift working (3) 12-hour shifts per week Part Time
Night Shift working (2) 12-hour shifts per week Required
Qualifications: - Graduation from an accredited nursing program. -
Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire. - National Provider BLS
- American Heart Association upon hire. - 1 year Nursing
experience. Preferred Qualifications: - Current certification of
completion of 40-hour Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) upon
hire. - 16-hour SANE Clinical Skills Lab (CSL training) upon hire.
