Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour day shift Hours per Shift: 72 hours per two weeks Experience: Minimum 2 years recent respiratory experience, including critical care with pediatrics License: CRT or RRT certification required Certifications: Active BLS, NRP, and PALS Must-Have: Experience with EKGs and EPIC charting Description: Provides respiratory therapies for all ages, including newborn to geriatric patients. Responsible for mechanical ventilator management, arterial blood gas draws and analysis, and emergent airway management. Delivers medication nebulization therapy and conducts EKGs and other diagnostics. Utilizes equipment for adult ventilator management, blood gas acquisition and analysis, non-invasive ventilation, EKG acquisition, bedside spirometry, and aerosol therapy. Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills, including Meditech and Pyxis Supply Stations. Requires a minimum of 2 years recent respiratory experience, specifically critical care with pediatrics. Candidates must have active CRT or RRT certification, along with active BLS, NRP, and PALS cards. Experience with EKGs is also required. This position may float to different areas of the facility to complete duties. Scrubs are required, but not provided. Orientation to the department is typically 2-3 days.
