UNIT: Progressive Care Unit 2W
Facility: 401 bed
Unit beds: 36
Trauma Level II

1 year of clinical experience required
1 year of experience in specialty required
Previous travel preferred
AK License in hand
BLS ACLS required

EMR: EPIC
Special Equipment: Alaris pumps, Philips bedside monitors and tele boxes, safe patient handling equipment, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, bipap and highflow oxygen devices, and glucometers
Unit Specific Procedures: Unit RNs to start IVs, maintain drips/lines, use alarms for fall risk, consult with RT, Lab, PT/OT/SLP to care for the patients and meet their needs.
Pt Population: 17+, Step-down with tele. Lots of cardiac (post open heart, chest pain, post cath, ablations, pacemakers). Respiratory patients (asthma, COPD, pneumonia, Covid-19). Kidneydialysis patients. Drug and alcohol w/d patients. Sepsis. GIB. Neuro overflow.
Ratios: 4:1
Float required: Rarely ever occurs unless taking PCU patients in ICU area (overflow)
Weekends and holidays as needed
IVS to manager for offer

Orientation: 1 - 2 days
Dress Code: scrubs any color any pattern, professional, non-slip shoes, no jeans material, no camouflage, heal toe must be covered, no acrylics/gels, hair/beard neat and trimmed

ALL TIME OFF REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION
NO LOCALS ACCEPTED: PROFESSIONALS MUST RESIDE OVER 50 MILES OF FACILITY TO QUALIFY

MUST NOT CURRENTLY BE WORKING IN ANY WAY FOR PROVIDENCE OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES. IF THE PROFESSIONAL IS A FORMER EMPLOYEE OF PROVIDENCE OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES (SWEDISH MEDICAL CENTER or PAC MED). MUST HAVE TERMINATED EMPLOYMENT AT LEAST 6 MONTHS PRIOR AND BE IN GOOD STANDING. DOCUMENTS MUST BE COMPLETE 1 WEEK PRIOR TO START, NO EXCEPTIONS.
