Description Clinical Asses sment Specialist - Psychiatric Emergency Department The Clinical Assessment Specialist is a licensed professional with a master's degree in the social services fields. They serve as a member of the emergency/acute care clinical team to provide psychiatric risk assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation, and crisis intervention to patients and families in both the Medical and Psychiatric Emergency Departments. Other services provided are telephonic and in-person dissemination of up to date referral information regarding community programs, telephonic consultation with multi-disciplinary professionals in the community, 24 Hour Crisis Line call management and assistance for all inquiries regarding Mental Health Services and matching patient needs with services and reimbursement sources $7,000 hiring bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment. Required qualifications:

  • Master's Degree/Ph.D. in Social Work or other related field
  • Current licensure in the State of Alaska as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT), Psychologist or eligibility for licensure within 6 months of employment
  • If Licensed Master Social Worker, clinical licensure must be obtained within two (2) years of initial employment
  • If Licensed Psychologist is temporary, full clinical licensure must be obtained within five (5) years of initial employment
