Job Description:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Supervisor of Certified
Medical Assistant (CMA) isresponsible for assisting providers in
delivering quality health care to customer-owners and theirfamilies
and assisting the providers in the clinic in furnishing high
quality health care. Supervisorof CMA is expected to handle
assignments that are tied to Joint Commission, Commission
onAccreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), OSHA,
Hazardous, Biohazardous, QA and QIcompliance. Practice as an active
member of the core clinical team with a level ofprofessionalism
that creates, develops and nurtures culturally-appropriate
interactions. TheSupervisor of CMA is responsible for the
day-to-day performance of a group of CMAs or LPNemployees including
guidance and coordination of the work of CMA or LPN employees
towardestablished goals and objectives. The team members connect
with each other, customerowners and the community. Flexibility and
adaptability are a must in the SCF fast-paced andgrowing
departments.This position has two (2) levels designed to provide
progressively more responsible andindependent work experiences.
Progression between job levels is based on the demonstratedability
to successfully handle more progressively responsible
assignments.Qualifications:SCF programs are established to serve a
primary population comprised of Alaska Native peoplewho are
affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native
and American Indianpeople within SCF's geographical service area.
Employees should have a thoroughunderstanding of the cultures and
the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical toensure
the achievement of SCF's vision of a Native Community that enjoys
physical, mental,emotional and spiritual wellness, and mission of
working together with the Native Community toachieve wellness
through health and related services:1. Bachelor's degree; OR two
(2) years of experience as a CMA or LPN; OR demonstratedproficiency
working at SCF as a CMA or LPN.2. Certification as a Medical
Assistant OR licensed in the State of Alaska as a PracticalNurse.3.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP,
ATLS, ALSO and PALSas required for specialty and any certification
relating to the scope of practice asrequired.Additional
Qualifications for Supervisor of Certified Medical Assistant II:1.
Two (2) years of demonstrated experience as a Supervisor of CMA I
level; ORdemonstrated proficiency as a Supervisor of CMA I at
SCFEmployee Health Requirements: Compliance with our Employee
Health Procedure is a condition of SCF employment. You are required
to agree that you will comply with all job-related employee health
screening and immunizations prior to your first day of employment.
Jobs designated as a Health Care Personnel (HCP) position, requires
that you have documentation that you have completed the following
immunizations prior to your first day of employment: MMR (Measles,
Mumps and Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Influenza,
T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis), and COVID-19 vaccination
is required.
