Respiratory Therapist works in the home care setting providing
quality patient care with equipment set-up and instruction to the
patient and/or caregiver on how to administer the therapy. This
team member provides services in accordance with written policies
and procedures. and frequently travels by car to the hospital
and/or patient---s home to deliver, check or pick up equipment. New

patient care in a variety of ways. About You Knowledgeable and
polite, able to maintain a positive attitude Organized,
self-motivated; effective oral and written communication skills,
computer literate Current Respiratory License (registered or
certified) Driver---s License with clean driving record for 3 years
HME/DME experience preferred, but not required On year of clinical
experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferred Responsibilities &
Duties: Assist referring physician and referral source in planning
and implementing patient care Inventory and order all equipment and
supplies per company protocols Perform initial patient evaluation
and on-going patient assessments Read and evaluate physicians'
orders and patient---s chart information to determine patients'
condition and treatment protocols Maintain thorough and appropriate
documentation in patient medical record of all visits and
procedures performed as well as telephone contact with the patient,
caregiver, physician and other members of the health care team
Instruct patient and/or caregiver in equipment usage, respiratory
services and equipment Perform follow up procedures to determine
efficacy of patient compliance while on therapy per protocols
Clean, sterilize, check and maintain all equipment and accessories
Must be able to lift and deliver an oxygen concentrator (55 lbs)
Ability to travel by car to hospitals and/or patient---s home to
provide services Assist in resolving patient equipment problems
Provide clear and compassionate communication with the patient
Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above
functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment and attends safety
education sessions Available for on-call duty evenings and weekends
