Providence is calling a Nurse Liaison RN (Admissions, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) at St Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.We are offering RNs who are not currently working for Providence or one of our affiliates a $10,000 sign on bonus to join our amazing nursing team! $5000 on your first paycheck and $5000 at 6 months.   • Support census development as defined through the targeted goals of the Care Team.
  • Utilize good nursing assessment skills to complete thorough pre-admission screening of patients referred to hospital. This includes the knowledge to determine medical stability, and foresight to estimate the patient's tolerance of therapy.
  • Conduct rounds to targeted referral sources on a regular basis.
  • Maintain memberships and regularly participates in community functions and activities as well as professional organizations.
  • Schedule and conduct educational programs at referring agencies.
  • Attend programs and/or courses in nursing, and other venues as needed to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Display and share knowledge of professional developments and current trends in the overall healthcare industry.
  • Follow up on internal and external problems related to referral/admission process to ensure rapid solutions.
  • Inform administration of competitive issues/trends/new programs and developments in liaison's territory.
  • Communicate with physicians, discharge planners, social workers, and other referral sources as needed to both develop referrals and follow-up on admissions to facility programs.
  • Establish contact with patient's family to facilitate admissions process and to assist in the orientation to the facility.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is an expectation of this position to fulfill the major functions of this position.Qualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
    • State of Alaska RN licensure
    • BLS certificationPreferred qualification for this position include:
      • Experience in acute medical-surgical, critical care, LTCH or IRF, insurance, workers' compensation, related clinical areaAbout St. Elias Specialty Hospital:St. Elias Specialty Hospital is owned by Providence Health System.
