HCA and Alaska Regional are all about caring for people, and that care extends to patients, families and employees.Alaska boasts incredible scenic beauty, drawing visitors year-round who come for a vacation and end up making Alaska home. - Alaskans enjoy all the amenities of an urban lifestyle - including performing arts, museums, cultural activities, shopping and fine dining - while living minutes from outdoor adventures in The Last Frontier. -The CV Recocery RN provides professional nursing care in the cardiovascular and interventional radiology units using a multidisciplinary approach. - Assesses patients for educational, physiological, psychosocial, comfort and safety needs. - Plans and coordinates care and follow-up with other associates, other departments, physician and others as necessary. - - Perform nursing duties in the CV Recovery and Cath Lab departments. -
  • Prepares each patient with appropriate pre-procedure instructions and obtains pertinent history by personal phone call. - Coordinates and communicates pre-admission information to appropriate staff, departments and physicians. - Completes pre and post op education.
  • Evaluates and documents each patient's response to intervention.
  • Formulates and coordinates patient's plan of care based on assessment of patient needs.
  • Safely and accurately administers medication and IV solutions.
  • Maintains and sustains professional ethics and promotes patient's bill of rights.
  • Ensures growth and personal development in the professional nurse role.
  • Organizes and completes work in a professional manner.
  • Understands and supports nursing philosophy and hospital mission as it applies within each department.
    • QUALIFICATIONS: Position has frequent interaction with the different departments within Cath Lab; the Physician, Cath Lab staff, and Nursing staff. - Therefore the person must have maturity, and sensitivity, also the ability to take direction in stressful situation while remaining calm. Requires an RN degree, from accredited school of nursing, plus 1 year hospital clinical experience. Must maintain State Registered Nurse license, CPR certification. - Basic arrhythmia course completion. - ACLS certification provided upon hire.
