Project Controls Lead Department: Project Services Team Reports
to: Project Services Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Location:
Anchorage, Alaska POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Project Controls Lead
is responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing cost
estimates, cost budgets, project planning, scheduling, risk
analysis, and performance reporting to ensure projects are
delivered on time and within budget. They oversee data analysis,
forecasting, and reporting to support decision-making and project
performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in
cost analysis, planning and scheduling and strong communication
skills with an ability to condense large amounts of information
into succinct reports. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: â?¢ Develop and
maintain detailed project budgets, cost and schedule estimates to
ensure timely delivery of project goals and objectives. â?¢ Provide
leadership and coordination with project managers, engineers, and
contractors to identify and resolve cost or schedule issues. â?¢
Lead a team of cost engineers and planners to optimize project cost
and timelines. â?¢ Coordinate with Project Controls teams on each
EPCm to gather schedule and cost data, perform analysis,
identifying trends for improved project efficiency. â?¢ Support
project risk management by identifying cost and schedule-related
risks, performing cost-benefit analyses and mitigating project
risks. â?¢ Develop and prepare all Project Controls procedures and
reporting tools for the project. â?¢ Prepare and present project
status reports, variation analyses and weekly/bi-weekly/ monthly
report processes and meetings across all EPCms for management and
other stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS: â?¢ Education & Experience â?¢
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or
related experience. â?¢ Minimum of 15 years of experience in
Project Controls on large scale capital projects. â?¢
Certifications such as PMP or CCP. â?¢ Skills & Competencies â?¢
Proven work experience as a Project Controls Specialist with
excellent knowledge of project management techniques and tools. â?¢
Proficiency with PM software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft
Project. â?¢ Strong analytical skills. â?¢ Mining industry
experience preferred. â?¢ Leadership & Communication â?¢ Proven
leadership and problem-solving capabilities. â?¢ Excellent
interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. â?¢
Ability to work collaboratively and lead across functional and
