Atlas is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Anchorage, AK team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of industrial hygiene and asbestos/lead project management experience with strong field work skills, a solid technical background and an excellent reputation of maintaining client relationships.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform industrial hygiene (IH) field air monitoring using sampling pumps, absorption media (tubes and badges), colorimetric detector tubes and direct reading instruments in accordance with the IH monitoring plan
  • Take detailed notes of worksite conditions and tasks performed that could influence exposure
  • Maintain complete and detailed records of IH monitoring, including field monitoring forms and lab results
  • Conduct noise dosimetry using software-configured dosimeters
  • Perform sound level surveys of worksites, and update survey maps to provide to staff
  • Perform asbestos and lead surveys of facilities and equipment and report findings
  • Interpret previous asbestos and lead surveys and sampling report results to determine if additional sampling is required
  • Apply and interpret lead negative exposure assessments, advise client on work restrictions
  • Draft professional reports describing sampling methods and comparing results to standards
  • Track and coordinate annual IH equipment calibrations
  • Accountable for sample shipment and sample media management, including maintaining a stock of routinely used mediaRequirements
    Requirements:
    • B.S. degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, public health or related field
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office -
    • Asbestos and lead certifications
    • Effective technical writing, strong oral communication, and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet organization and project objectives.
    • Technically adept, flexible, and forward thinking
    • Exhibits attention to detail, and able to work under periodic time constraints
    • Demonstrated knowledge and background in the implementation of OSHA and EPA technical safety and health standards
    • Ability to assemble and interpret data collected during the assessment of physical, chemical, biological or ergonomic stressors
    • Familiarity with one or more of the following equipment: Heuresis x-ray fluorescent lead detector, Radiation monitoring equipment, ventilation measurement equipment, direct reading instruments, four gas meters for detection of LEL, O2, H2S and CO, UltraRae Photoionization Detector (PID) for detection of hydrocarbons and benzene, sound level meters, indoor air quality monitoring equipment
    • Atlas will provide training for instruments with little experience
