SUMMARY: As the Manager of Crowley Fuels' Health and Safety
Program, this role is responsible for planning and aligning Safety,
Health and Compliance initiatives at all levels of the
organization. These include safety, health, compliance, security,
risk, quality and/or environmental initiatives and programs as part
of a team. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, implement, and
champion key initiatives and programs that drive continuous
operational improvement.Conduct and/or coordinate internal/external
safety and environmental audits to monitor facility compliance and
safety culture. Manage and/or participate in the response and
investigation of incidents, identifying causes, corrective actions,
system or program modifications and assist in initial report
preparation. Ensure compliance with corporate and business unit
policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Develop
standardization and best practices to safety processes, templates,
and practices. Review safety reports, corrective action requests,
training, near misses, event reports, change of command forms etc.,
and use technical expertise to provide feedback and/or suggest
improvements. Interpret and evaluate the accumulation of data and
develop appropriate controls to mitigate hazards related to
high-risk operations. Manage and champion the fit for duty program
and act as the designated employer representative. Maintain and
report on KPIs tracked in an EHS platform. Champion the safety
culture, perform operational assessments to review the
effectiveness and efficiency of safety and environmental practices
and procedures. Identify safety-training requirements and
facilitate development and implementation of safety training
programs. Collaborate widely with operations and others to execute
the safety, health, and compliance program. Operational environment
includes transport, storage, and delivery of fuel throughout Alaska
by barge, tankers, and local trucks. Projects and maintenance of
assets throughout the portfolio including marine vessels,
infrastructure, and rolling assets such as trucks and equipment.
Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in occupational safety
and health, marine engineering/transportation, trucking /
transportation or related safety or management discipline. A
combination high school diploma or equivalent and equal experience
may be substituted for education. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5)
years professional/managerial experience in safety, health and
environmental management, petroleum operations management.
Certification and training in recognized HSSE specialties or
professional licensure may count as two years of experience.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. COMPETENCIES: Ability
to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships and build
effective teams and workgroups. Ability to prioritize, organize and
perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting
assigned deadlines. Ability to manage conflict within stakeholder
groups by integrating diverse views and finding common ground or
acceptable alternative solutions. Ability to evaluate process
effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to
function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to
indirectly mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees. Ability
to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.
Ability to identify and/or document existing and new trend, as well
as evaluate and predict their impact on the organization. Knowledge
of and ability to conduct need, trend, feasibility and performance
assessments. Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts,
principles and practices of project designing, scheduling,
estimating, planning, and inspecting. Knowledge of training
methodology and the ability to develop and facilitate
technical/operational training to others. JOB SCOPE: Position
impacts the entire organization. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both
inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both
high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt,
mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous
equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with
restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require
extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor
and ability to sit for long periods of time. Primary Location :
