Position Summary:The North Parks Highway Facility Manager / Driver reports directly to the Senior Shoreside Operations Manager - Central Alaska and is responsible for the profitable and efficient operations of Vitus' Healy facility. This position requires a combination of skills and licensing including, but not limited to: State of AK Class B commercial driver license with an X endorsement, customer relations skills to serve and expand the business and experience with terminal business activities. The incumbent will supervise, guide, assist or step-in for facility staff, including convenience store as well as perform fuel deliveries as required.A successful Facility Manager / Driver is a self-starter who can execute their job in a sometimes changing and often challenging environment.Essential Job Functions:Provides exceptional customer service.Observes and complies with all company safety policies and procedures.Performs the job duties in a safe and sensible manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.Manages assets across all business units in assigned area.Manages and maintains all Vitus Facility and assigned assets as directed by the Anchorage office.Participates in and promotes corporate safety, marketing, and operations initiatives.Routine interface with accounting, maintenance, engineering and other terminal support teams to ensure all business activities are occurring within established company practices.Provides information and reports as needed by the Anchorage office regarding Terminal Operations.Facilitates local administrative requirements including turning in fuel inventories, asset counts, and fuel pump meter readings.Maintains location paperwork on a daily basis to include inventory reconciliations, site inspections, equipment inspections, etc. within established company practices.Works with Inventory Manager to ensure adequate inventory levels to accommodate customer demand - for bulk and home heating deliveries as well as regular gas station inventory.Performs gas station inspections and maintains current and accurate inspection log.Facilitate and/or perform routine maintenance on company equipment per company policy and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.Performs or manages general maintenance needs and provide parts and supplies expediting to other Company facilities.Participate in customer meetings to build local relationships and to promote the brand of the business.Schedule and manage customer fuel orders to ensure safe and timely fuel deliveries.Processes orders received via telephone, in person and website.Schedules and manages customer fuel orders to ensure safe and timely deliveries.Serves as primary contact for all local customers and facilitates customer inquiries.Performs local sales functions as appropriate and represents the company to local entities.Works with C-Store Manager to ensure proper business practices and customer service expectations are met.Collects staff timecards, reviews for accuracy and correctness and approves/denies, submits to Anchorage for processingSupervises drivers and other terminal personnel to maximize operational efficiency and safely deliver quality goods and services, in accordance with all company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations that duties are performed as definedPerforms or assigns driver's daily vehicle inspection report and record on proper company form.Performs or assigns daily (365 days/yr.) gas station inspections and maintain current and accurate inspection fileDevelops and maintains safety culture among all employees.Other Job Responsibilities:Other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma, or equivalentFive (5) years of related experience and/or trainingState of AK Class B CDL with X endorsement, obtained within 60 days of date of hireKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Strong organizational skillsLeadership skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent problem solving skillsCustomer service skillsMicrosoft Office skills; specifically, Outlook, Excel and WordCompetency in mechanical systems troubleshooting and repairAbility to communicate clearly, verbally and writtenAbility to read, write and speak EnglishAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measureAbility to deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization existsAbility to prioritize work, meet deadlines, maintain an attention to accuracy and detailEducation:High school diploma, or equivalent(1 year of directly related work experience may qualify to substitute 1 year of education to meet the education requirement)Required Training & Certificates:State of AK Class B CDL with X endorsement, obtained within 60 days of employmentAttends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications.Physical Demand/Work Environment:The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Visual Acuity: must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, and may require the use of ear protection. Work is usually done out-of-doors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions, requiring the use of personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to; a reflective vest, steel toed boots, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. The position supervises exempt, non-exempt, and contracted staff. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
