Drive operational excellence and innovation as you take on the
role of System Chief Operating Officer in beautiful Anchorage,
Alaska! -The Position
- The System Chief Operating Officer (System COO) manages the
day-to-day operations and ensures effective and efficient
performance for the organization's operational controls,
administration, and reporting procedures. - -
- Provides leadership and fosters an accountable and
success-oriented environment by encouraging productivity and
building a highly inclusive culture. Additionally, the System COO
is responsible for motivating, coaching, and mobilizing staff to
ensure that team members thrive and meet all implemented
organizational outcomes. -
- The System COO will collaborate with executive leadership to
develop and implement strategies that drive quality outcomes,
conceptualize and execute strong public and community relations,
and adhere to all applicable federal, state, and Tribal regulations
and requirements. -
- Ideal candidates will be comfortable leading in complex,
changing, and ambiguous environments. Additionally, the COO will
possess the ability to evolve work processes and priorities as
needed to guarantee operational efficiencies and organizational
outcomes. -
- This leader will encourage equity and inclusion amongst diverse
workgroups and cultures and will facilitate any concerns to ensure
that fair and equitable treatment is accomplished. - -
- Master's Degree in Health Management or closely related field
required. -The Organization
- Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is a Joint
Commission accredited, non-profit Tribal health organization
providing primary care, pharmacy services, physical therapy,
surgery centers, and multi-specialty clinics to more than 180,000
Alaska Native and American Indian people of the state.
- ANTHC is the largest, most comprehensive Tribal health
organization in the country, employing more than 3,000 people and
driven by the mission of "providing the highest quality health
services in partnership with our people and the Alaska Tribal
Health System."
- The organization's work includes comprehensive medical services
at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC), wellness programs,
disease research and prevention, rural provider training, and rural
water and sanitation systems construction.

with patients, Tribal partners, employees, government, and
nonprofit partners to build a unified health system that delivers

ANMC hospital houses Alaska's first Level II Trauma Center and is
also a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. -
- With overflowing passion for Alaskan communities, ANTHC also
provides world-class construction including clean water, energy,
sanitation, and utility projects to ensure that members of the
communities are well supported. Additionally, ANTHC provides
trainings and resources to enhance local environmental management.
-The Community -
- Anchorage, Alaska, rests on the Cook Inlet, bordered by six
mountain ranges and warmed by a maritime climate to provide
year-round adventure and recreation.
- A city with close to 300,000 people, Anchorage balances modern
urban life with easy access to outdoor activities and summer days
offering up to 22 hours of sunlight. Anchorage is a place with
big-city amenities: museums, shops, theaters, an excellent music
scene, and fine restaurants that highlight the local fare of king
crab, halibut, and salmon. It is also home to Alaska's largest
college, the University of Alaska Anchorage. -

river rafting, 60 glaciers within 50 miles of downtown, and
dazzling northern lights. Bordering much of the city is Chugach
State Park, a 495,000-acre wilderness area and the fourth largest

people of all skill levels, with many trailheads accessible from
downtown Anchorage in 30 minutes or less.
- Anchorage residents experience low tax rates due to no state
income tax and no sales tax in the Municipality of Anchorage.
Anchorage also holds Alaska's largest school district and embraces

- Anchorage Fur Rendezvous, or simply "Rondy," as most locals
call it, is one of the best winter festivals in Alaska.
