Job Description:
Description The General Manager will effectively lead, motivate
and manage UIC Construction while meeting the goals set by the Sr.
VP of Commercial Services. Applicant will establish and cultivate
corporate culture, and demonstrate a positive example for company
values.
Key Management Responsibilities:
--- Monitor and provide oversight and management of all UIC
Construction operations. Work is predominantly 80% remote
commercial construction and 20% remote civil work.
--- Work with other UIC operations and operating groups to ensure
client's needs are being met.
--- Applicant will assure adequate systems and procedures are
monitored with regard to proposals, bid conditions, fees, and
target objectives.
--- Applicant will promote and pursue new areas of work
opportunities and recommend potential alliances necessary to secure
work.
--- Develop annual business and marketing plan for UIC
Construction.
--- Develop and manage annual operating budget for the UIC
Construction.
--- Position requires effective management of all company
operations with an emphasis on safety.
--- Develop, cultivate and manage staff as necessary to fulfill
company commitments.
--- Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Critical Skills/Expertise:
--- Must be able to market and develop construction work in the
Alaska region.
--- Must have strong managerial and business skills.
--- Ability to lead and motivate an organization with respect and
in a positive manner
--- A solid understanding of staffing requirements and skills
needed for organizational performance.
--- Understanding of cost accounting, budgetary practices, human
resource management, and strategic planning.
--- Must manage and forecast revenue growth, and company goals and
staffing requirements.
--- Must have an understanding of Alaska Native, American Indian
and multicultural working environments.
Requirements Required Experience:
--- Minimum of twelve (12) years + of related experience
--- Minimum of seven (7) years + of experience managing
construction projects preferably in remote locations
--- Proposal development and schematic estimating experience.
--- Staff development, training, and supervisory experience.
--- Demonstrated track record of completing successful projects
with repeat clients.
--- Experience working as a team player in a Multi-Cultural
environment.
--- Excellent written/verbal skills, computer proficiency required
including and extensive working knowledge of MS Office Suite and
ideally Sage 300, Bluebeam, and various scheduling software.
Physical Demands:
--- Occasional Travel
--- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
frequently required to read text on a computer screen and in hard
copy, stand or sit, talk, and hear.
--- Exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit,
well-ventilated and moderately paced office environment.
--- Occasionally required to carry/lift up to 20 lbs.
Work Environment Summary:
--- Typical office setting.
--- Occasional travel to Construction Site Settings.
--- In a large office building.
Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions of a general
office setting.
