Job Description:
The Manager of Education and Regulatory Affairs provides
direction, leadership and support to the Clinic Managers and staff
of the in center and home dialysis programs. The Manager will
ensure new staff are oriented and trained consistent with clinic
policies. The Manager will conduct semi-annual internal surveys to
ensure programs are in compliance with federal, state and local
regulations. In collaboration with the Executive Director of
Operations, Director of Operations, and Clinic Managers, the
Manager will ensure patients receive high quality care, and that
staff are well trained to perform all aspects of patient care.
CUSTOMER SERVICE--- Treats all patients, staff and physicians as
customers.--- Understands principals of customer service and
consistently acts to ensure that all customers are treated with
respect and dignity.--- Seeks to minimize patient complaints and
maximize patient satisfaction scores.--- Ensures all staff treats
patients with respect and dignity.--- Is responsible to ensure the
clinic is maintained in a sanitary and safe manner for patients and
staff.--- Actively promote customer service standards in alignment
with our People and Patient Promises; develop effective
relationships at all levels of the organization.DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES--- Provides clinical leadership and consistently
demonstrates a commitment to excellence and effective problem
solving.--- Ensures all clinical staff meet required qualifications
for position held and perform duties within limitations established
by and in accordance with company policy/procedures, health care
professionals practice acts, applicable state and federal laws and
regulations.--- Evaluates Clinic Manager, clinical, technical and
support staff's educational needs and identifies knowledge/skill
deficits. Develops processes to meet the needs of individual
facilities and staff. --- Provides educational support to program
managers their staff to ensure their knowledge of and ability to
comply with industry standards of care and the Conditions for
Coverage.--- Orients and mentors managers in education programs and
operational readiness in accordance with policy/procedure---
Performs clinical education of new hires as needed or requested.---
Collaborates with technical services (Biomed) to oversee technical
training is being completed, reinforce best practices per policy,
procedure, and manufacturer IFU, and tracks technical
training/competencies.--- Provides clinic based in-service programs
as needed or requested.--- Coordinates and conduct theory class
training, charge nurse training, and preceptor training programs as
directed. --- Effectively communicates expectations; accepts
accountability and holds others accountable for performance.---
Trains new and existing staff according to the standards of
practice set by the clinical Policies and Procedures (P&P).---
Tracks all licensures and certification ensuring only staff in
compliance with CMS conditions for coverage are scheduled in the
facility. --- Ensures documentation is complete on all new staff
orientation/training. Reports results during QAPI on a monthly
basis and ensures staff that are not in training compliance per CMS
conditions for coverage are scheduled appropriately in the
facility. --- Provides oversight to ensure all staff meet or exceed
basic competency training programs as well as mandatory
in-services. --- Develops program specific educational tools if
skill/knowledge deficits are identified. --- Participates in the
development of clinic policies and procedures; will take the lead
to ensure new P&Ps/protocols are revised, reviewed/approved by
GB, manual (paper/electronic) is updated, and staff are oriented
utilizing appropriate documentation. --- Organizes, leads,
documents annual skills testing.--- Plays active role in onboarding
and welcoming of new staff.--- Consistently and routinely
communicates with the Medical Director to discuss staff education,
training, and policy/procedure revisions --- Maintains a positive
and collaborative relationship with physicians, state agencies and
the community.--- Participates in and contributes to monthly
conference calls and educational programs as needed and/or
required.--- Remains current with dialysis industry and technology
standards. --- All other duties as assigned.Operational
Readiness--- Knowledge of and remain current with federal, state,
local laws and regulations.--- Performs duties at all times within
limitations established by and in accordance with company policy
and procedures, applicable state and federal laws and
regulations.--- Performs internal audit of each assigned facilities
on annual basis. --- Assists Director and Clinic Manager with
necessary Corrective Action Plan development, implementation and
follow through as required for internal and external surveys.---
Provides follow up on any/all deficiencies for all audits done
internally (corporate) or externally (CMS & state specific).---
Holds the position of Secretary for GB and assures compliance with
required Governing Body meetings.--- Assists with developing,
implementing and monitoring of clinical, education and QAPI
policies. --- Assists with policy/procedure revisions and
dissemination of new and revised policies as necessary.--- Knows
and understands the function and safe operation of water treatment
equipment and related mechanical and electrical systems.--- Be
familiar with all emergency equipment and emergency operational
procedures.--- Uses appropriate safety measures including personal
protective equipment as necessary.EDUCATION AND REQUIRED
CREDENTIALS--- Graduated from an accredited Registered Nurse
program with current state license--- CNN and/or BSN certification
preferred--- BCLS instructor certification required or to be
acquired within 60 daysEXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS--- Five years
dialysis experience--- Experience with ESRD regulatory requirements
preferred--- Strong leadership ability and organizational skills---
Ability to communicate in many different mediums--- Ability to
understand and implement government standards--- Strong verbal and
written communication skills--- Proficiency in MS Office ---
Proficiency in all EMR clinical applications required within 90
days of hire--- Demonstrates flexibility regarding scheduling and
work assignments--- Ability to manage multiple projects and oversee
multiple locationsPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONSThe

staff and physicians. The position requires travel between assigned
facilities and various locations within the community. Travel to
regional and Corporate meetings may be required. The work
environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air
temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to
