Senior Project ManagerDescriptionSummaryResponsible for planning
and directing engineering projects by performing the following
duties: management and oversight of industrial engineering
projects, the adequate performance of which requires the
specialized knowledge of engineering, dealing with the design of
civil and horizontal structures, machines, equipment, utilities
systems, materials, processes, works, or projects; the direction of
or the performance of engineering surveys, consultation,
investigation, evaluation, planning; and professional observation
of construction of industrial facilities, works, or projects and
engineering review of drawings and specifications by clients and
project stakeholder as directed by the client.The ideal candidate
will be a proactive communicator and able to effectively
communicate with on-site project staff, corporate headquarters,
engineering staff, and other project stakeholders. The PM position
will work in both the commercial, rural, and industrial
sector.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for
establishing and maintaining client relationships; ensuring client
satisfaction and that client objectives are metResponsible for
overall contract administration, including pricing, estimating,
scoping, project budgets, project reporting, invoicing (project &
sub-contract).Ensures client billings are accurate; monitors
outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on all
projectsResponsible for project schedules and timely completion of
department projectsReviews, prepares or modifies, and approves
reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules,
environmental impact studies, and designs for projectServes as a
key client contact by attending meetings, teleconferences, and
project inspections at the request of the client.Reviews and
approves of engineering agreements for his/her projects within the
departmentAssists client and engineering team construction cost
estimates within the departmentDirects and supervises other
engineers' activities within departmentVisits construction sites to
monitor progress and other duties as per the contract
documentsServes as onsite project representativeThis position is
responsible for the supervision of staff.Other duties that are
pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be
assigned.QualificationsBS in architecture or engineering discipline
desirable; may substitute an equivalent combination of education
and experiencePE preferredA minimum of ten (10) years' experience
in A/E or construction industry, including progressive supervisory
experienceA minimum of 7 (seven) years experience managing
industrial projects, working with project owners, decision makers,
technical and administrative staffProject management professional
is desirableDemonstrable experience and working knowledge of
Microsoft Project, Primavera, and other project management tools
used by industrial clientsAbility to define problems, collect data,
establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to read,
analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, technical procedures, plans and specifications and
governmental regulationsAbility to write reports business
correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present
information and respond to questions from groups of managers,
clients, customers, and project stakeholder in an industrial
setting and context. Project team could be located at multiple
physical locations.A valid driver's license and acceptable driving
record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company
vehicle insurance policy.Working Conditions and Physical
RequirementsWeather: Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires
most or all work to be done inside.Noise level: The noise level in
the work environment is usually that of a standard office
atmosphere.Description of environment: Office building with
standard office environment.Physical requirements: Employee is
required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently
required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel,
climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell,
and carry weight/lift.Travel: This position requires travel up to
50 percent of the time. Employee may travel to remote areas and may
be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including
but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes and ATVs._
Travel may require an employee or contractor to pass a TSA security
checkpoint. If the employee or contractor does not have valid
identification, they will not be able to travel until valid
identification is obtained and verified. For this reason all
employees and contractors must have valid identification when
traveling to and from the work site destination, for a list of TSA
