If you're interested in growing your digital marketing skills, open to learning new platforms and ready to join a team of students working remotely at UAA, we're ready to hire you!The Student Life and Leadership (SLL) Content Manager will develop social media and online content, manage SLL social media accounts and engagement, help student organizations expand social media reach and support SLL marketing efforts. This student staff position is 20 hours/week with flexibility for remote work, and starts at $11.00/hour. Duties: Job Duties: The Student Life and Leadership (SLL) Content Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Social Media Content Management: The SLL Content Specialist will manage @uaalife social media accounts, plan and coordinate social media schedules with limited supervision, seek, initiate and manage content collaborations with student organizations and SLL programmatic areas, develop graphics and written content for @uaalife social media pages and engage under the @uaalife handle with followers.--
    • Social Media Education: The SLL Content Specialist will develop resources for student organizations to learn best practices, tips and tricks for growing social media engagement.
    • SLL Online Marketing Support: Draft SLL newsletters, including Seawolf LIFE: Online and This Week's Opportunities, support SLL Virtual Opportunity website updates, coordinate audience conversation data, and support department marketing and tabling. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: --- Ability to perform and train others in basic client service.--- Ability to perform and train others in graphic design for multiple media.--- Ability to perform and train others in basic marketing and publicity strategies.--- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and delegate to others as needed.--- Possess good organizational skills.--- Possess strong time management skills.--- Possess exceptional attention to detail.--- Possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.--- Ability to work with only occasional, indirect supervision and to take initiative.--- Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all information. Required Experience: --- Possess prior experience in social media management, art, graphic design, and/or marketing, or equivalent knowledge. Typical Education or Training: To be eligible for student employment in Student Life & Leadership, an applicant must: a. Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment, or b. Have been enrolled in the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and c. Have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer or his/her designee. d. Students enrolled in non-traditional programs of study will be considered eligible for student employment with the approval of the Senior Student Services officer. e. An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.The ideal candidate will have a background in or appreciation for graphic design and/or marketing.
