Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions:
Coordinates and executes appropriate permits for construction projects.
Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.

Additional Responsibilities:
Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.

Mental Activities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, speak, write and understand English, and to use customer service skills. The employee is frequently required to use interpersonal and teamwork skills. The employee is occasionally required to use creativity, independent judgment, discretion, problem analysis, supervision and decision making skills.
