As an Experienced Water Resources Engineer or Scientist in Anchorage, Alaska, you will work on complex projects involving innovative urban stormwater management and natural surface water systems, including sustainable green infrastructure planning studies; urban stormwater infrastructure design and infrastructure; hydrologic/hydraulic analysis; stream restoration; surface water, groundwater, watershed, and stormwater runoff monitoring/modeling; and coastal resiliency studies and planning.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

* Directing multi-disciplinary project teams;

* Performing and overseeing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies;

* Developing innovative green infrastructure solutions for the urban environment;

* Applying innovative hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, from 1-D to 3-D transport models;

* In-stream and urban stormwater water quality monitoring and modeling;

* Field investigations and construction support services;

* Developing construction documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications;

* Preparing erosion and sediment control designs;

* Interacting with client representatives;

* Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;

* Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a key role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring; and

* Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences.

Based on your current level of experience, you'll likely be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, staff management, and mentoring tasks. Here are some other things you should know about a typical Experienced Water Resources Engineer or Scientist position with Geosyntec:

* Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, defensive driving certification, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants

* Fieldwork: Up to 20%

* Overnight travel: Up to 20%

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

* BS degree in environmental or civil engineering, natural resources science, with emphasis on water resources or closely related discipline. (required)

* Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering or natural resources science, with emphasis on water resources or closely related discipline. (preferred)

* At least 8 years of research or related experience. (preferred)

* Experience with modeling and design software tools such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS. (preferred)

* Professional registration as a P.E. (Professional Engineer) within state guidelines. (required)

* Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
